Staycation

So we've been doing the famed "staycation" quite a bit this summer. Yesterday, we said, "We will accomplish nothing but fun today", and did just that. We headed out and enjoyed a beautiful day on the lake both in the morning and after naps. Had pizza delivered to the marina, Played in the sand in a cove Evan affectionately named, "shy guy beach" last year after his Mario Kart obsession began. We watched hot air balloons, fed the fish and the birdies, watched the sunset, headed back home for a campout in the backyard with smores :) Loved it all! We actually thought we'd get to sleep in the tent, but at 11:00, it became VERY clear that Katie, aka demon voice crazy katie, was NOT going to cooperate. But we had a great time nonetheless, and were ever so happy to know that a camping trip 2 hours away from home would've proven nothing but sleepless for the rest of us. Maybe next year we'll try it for real! :)
